February 9th

The robots have been defeated and now we get to decide what we are going to do. We all meet up at the behemoth explorer. Crom finally gets something to eat. We head back to Silverton. That evening Billy Bob tells them it is time to leave and pulls a very large chest out of a very small bag. He bows, takes one last group shot, blinds us all, and is gone when our eyesight returns. Allison and Blaze rejoice for a short while and then open the chest. It has enough gems for us all to retire. We check the seeker and it is full and quiet. Blaze studies and Crom goes to find Blaze thinking she is the leader of the group. Crom opens the door and stands outside Blaze’s room until she notices him. When she looks up from her books, Crom asks for some place to stay. When she shows him to his room he asks how to adjust the thermostat and gets settled in his new room. We get back to Silverton. Blaze, Crom, Allison, Big Dee, Davis and Flea head toward the Northern Gun store. The people make a wide berth around us. We get to Northern Gun and Crom’s tail perks up in excitement. Crom goes to Blaze and says, “I need!” Blaze tells him to wait. Julius is not in town and the guy in charge says that we will need to wait for Julius to come back before Crom can join the group. They don’t have any jobs for us right now. Davis tells Crom, “Don’t worry Thadius, I’ll take care of it.” Allison gets some cards at the general store. Allison goes to see if she can get her crescent board fixed. She goes back to where Blaze got her crescent board (Blaze doesn’t go with her because she is avoiding the owner.) The Devil Man tells her she should just get another one and she refuses. The next morning a guy from the mercenary group that we just hired knocks on our door. He heard that we have gems and is interested in buying some of them since he is a tecnowizard. Allison perks up and asks if he can repair her hover cycle. She shows him her hovercycle and he says that he would be able to fix it for 7000-8000 credits. That is much better than the two million that Blaze paid for her new one. He said that he would fix it but he wants to go buy his gems first. We show him up to the room where everyone is and we feel a presents fill the room. We have felt it once before and we see a figure rising up before Gypsy, the tecnowizard, Crom, and Allison wearing a bright blue cloak and standing a little bit taller than each of them. All the three of them see is a pair of eyes and they can’t look away. The figure in front of each of them tells them that it is their destiny to help right the balance of the megaverse and bring good back. Then he extends a question to each of them, “Will you accept this call?” Gypsy and Allison say yes. Crom asks what “good” is. The figure responds that the megavers has fallen into darkness and it cannot be allowed to come to pass or else men will suffer and that he has the power to right the balance and to stop suffering like he has suffered. Crom gets a little bit of flashes of the torment that he has been through. Crom looks at everyone and asks if this quest could include vengeance and the figure responds as long as vengeance is not carried to extremes. Crom agrees. All three of them are whispered words of advice. Then the three figures combine into one figure then tells us, “the quest has well begun but I am displeased with those who have possession of the items of power for you have not called upon their power. You need to do so in the future if you wish to prevail against the darkness.” He then fades away. We all become accepting of Crom. We all go over to Gypsy and welcome him to the group and tell him that he no longer has to buy the gems. We explain to him what is going on and tell him to go tie up his loose ends and we’ll see him in the morning. This visit jars Allison’s memory and she wants to have someone more closely compare the scroll and the book that we found. Then Allison and Blaze go get the Thraidec out to look at it. Gypsy goes back to the mercenary group. The grig leapers was the first job that he went on with them. He tells them that he is quitting and the boss isn’t very happy with him. Blaze remembers from her magic lore that magic items sometimes need a special command or word to do something. Sometimes it is an action and sometimes it is a combination of an action and a word. Blaze concentrates really hard and asks, “How do I use you?” Nothing happens. Blaze says, “Thaidec, thraidec, thraidec” and nothing happens. Allison says, hey maybe it heals people, anyone hurt. Crom, who was being intertained by watching them the whole time, lifts up his partially healed claw. Blaze say, “Thaidec,” and touches Crom with the thraidec on his claw. Magic energy swirls around them. When the magic is gone, Crom is completely healed. The symbol of the star on the seeker is glowing. Blaze lets everyone know that the seeker is glowing. We say, hey everyone is here, lets head up to the ley line again to open the rift. Davis had just gotten back when we left and is in the cargo hold unpacking all couple of crates of guns. Allison asks if he bought the guns and he responds, “I cannot believe that you would question my honor.” Allison takes that to mean he didn’t. Davis very excitedly shows Crom what he was able to get for him. Davis says that he wasn’t able to get any rail guns, though so we have hope that Davis didn’t steal them. Gypsy fixes Allison’s board. We get to the ley line and push the button on the seeker and the rift appears. It is only about 8 feet tall and the behemoth will not fit in it. We take a while decided what/ who will stay and what/ who will go. Jarl, Onida, and Zebulon stay with the behemoth. Everyone else grabs what they can and walk into the rift. White light forms around us and when it clears we see that we are on a large plain that stretches off in all directions. There are no hills, birds, sounds, grass, or dirt. The ground is a greenish grayish color that has a little bit of a give to it. It feels rough, but not like sand paper. Allison sees an aura that stretches off in every direction. She tells everyone that the ground is alive. We can see the curve of the world in the horizon. Blaze doesn’t feel a ley line and the world feels disconnected to her. She is still able to perform her spells, though. We head in the directions that the seeker is headed. After three days we see a little bit of some mountains in the horizon. We realize that in those three days we have not seen anything living as well as any water. Blaze scouts ahead to see if she sees anything. Gypsy also goes up with her to use his scope to see if he can see anything. Blaze sees a speck above the mountains and asks Gypsy to look at the speck. The speck has gotten a little bit bigger. He sees something like looks like a cross between a hammer head shark, a snake, and a bird. It is miles and miles away. Blaze tries to figure out what it is but doesn’t have any luck. It fades into the distance and disappears. We go a little farther and Hikari raises the problem of that we only have one day of water left and we need to find water. The seeker has not registered any PPE yet and we wonder how long it is supposed to take to fill. No one remembers, though. We keep going forward. Blaze gets on her wing board to scout. Joe senses evil faintly coming from everywhere. Crom tells us that lots of times water can be found in the mountains. They are odd looking mountains. They are smooth with no rocks or anything. They aren’t very big. The seeker is not pointed toward the mountains. It parallels the mountains. Blaze flies up toward the mountains and doesn’t see any water but she does see a man running down one of the canyons in the mountains and behind him there are small creatures running after him. She moves closer to see details. The guy in front is a male human that is wearing robes that look like at one time they were fairly expensive but are now raggedy. Behind him the beings are definitely not human. They are goblins. There are about 2 dozen of them carrying spears and short swords. They are about two miles away from the group, but not headed directly from the group. Blaze uses levitation and lifts the guy into the air and grabs him. He is screaming his head off. Blaze tries to tell him that she is saving him, but being a devil man doesn’t help that much. He faints and she brings him back to the group. Blaze explains what happened. Allison tries to heal him with the traidec, but he doesn’t appear to be hurt. Blaze tries first aid to see if she can wake him up. Davis comes over and smacks him across the face and wakes him up. Flea says, “Hhhiii.” He faints again. Allison goes over and demands all the dee-bees to leave. Allison wants to find out about this guy and she asks Davis to wake him up again. When he wakes up Allison does light healing on him because he needs it now. Blaze uses the thraidec and it works now. The guy is saying, “Where are they? Where are they?” Allison tells him that her friend saw that he was in trouble so she decided to remove him from that situation. She apologizes if her friend scared him. The guy asks Allison what side she is on. She responds the good side. The guy says that is a little vague and he asks if she serves the unholy. She responds that she is not from around here. And he says that he kind of noticed from the assortment of dee-bees. Allison says that all she knows is that goblins aren’t nice so we decided to save him from them. He asks if he is our prisoner and we respond only if he wants to be. He sits up and looks around and says, “If it is all the same to you, I’ll be going now.” We stop him and ask him about water. He says, “You are new to Wormwood aren’t you? Which side of the mountains are we on?” We respond that we are on the south side of the mountains. He can get us some water but we will have to go to the other side of the mountains. We ask how long it is going to take and he responds that it depends on if we get attacked by the forces of the unholy or not. While we were talking, Gypsy hikes to the top of the mountains. We look around and say, “The new guy is gone.” Blaze goes and gets him and asks why he didn’t use his hovercycle. Blaze flies up and sees the goblins are about an hour away. We ask the guy if the goblins were forces of the unholy, he says yes. Allison wants to leave and not wait for the goblins. Crom wants to fight something. Allison asks the guy what his name is. He says he is Narash of the Layton Cathedral. The seeker is pointed toward the west. Layton is toward the North. Goblins are nasty creatures that are known for being canablistic if there is no other food. They rely on group strength and numbers rather than strategy. They are evil and intelligent. They don’t have specific weaknesses. They are MDC. We decide to stay here and ambush the goblins. Crom sets everything up of how we are going to attack them. Blaze is up in the air to draw them toward her. Gypsy is on one side of the canyon to be a look out. The flying people are off to the side where the goblins won’t see them and the ones with the big guns are out in front where the goblins will see them first then the flying people will come in and fight once the goblins are engaged. We ask if Narash can help us and ask about his story. He says that he was traveling with the Vicar and was ambushed. The Vicar is dead and as far as he knows everyone else is dead as well. The Vicar was the second in command of the Cathedral. The goblins see Blaze hovering in the air so they slow down and send some scouts to the top of the canyon to get better vantage points. The goblin that was sent up to where Gypsy was and runs back to the group yelling. Gypsy shoots the goblin in the back and he goes tumbling down the hill. Crom hears the boom and starts running toward the mouth of the canyon. Several goblins take baskets off their backs and see some things flying out of them. The things resemble foot long piranhas with two scaly arms and evil glowing eyes. There are about 30 of them in the air. 15 go toward Blaze, 15 go toward Blaze. Gypsy says, “I should have used the chameleon on my armor.” Gypsy shoots the leader of the group, takes the shot and screams a bit and sends six warriors up toward Gypsy. Blaze flies toward her fish to get closer to Gypsy and get rid of her fish on the way. Allison is flying toward mouth of the canyon as fast as she can. Crom and Allison will get there in a minute. Blaze shoots a magic net toward the fish and misses them and before she can shoot again, the fish are on top her. Gypsy shoots a net through his shotgun and is able to snare 3 of them out of 15.
