June 1st Notes

The Sun comes up and the caravan is long on its way and we are in the valley of no fog. Blaze goes and checks on the Seeker Davis goes up on the hover cycle to see more. See’s the spot where the Shifter and mercenaries originally camped. Hikari and Onida try tracking from the place where we last saw John captured. Xestro tracks from the nexus. Sees a lot of tracks and not much else Joe flies around and around. He sees a bear. Hikari and Onida find the spot where they grabbed John. Hikari finds the trail and we follow it down into the valley for a quarter of a mile and then the tracks get confusing. At first they were dragging someone and then there is a lot of trampled ground and we can’t see anything. Davis finds a lot of molding rations and a couple of different sets of clothing that need washing and three credit cards. Onida discovers there are no caves around. Onida sees something up in tree that is flapping, but we can’t tell what it is through the trees. Onida tries to climb but there is a snap and down comes Onida and a tree branch. Hikari wants to try and catch her, but remembers that she is mega damage and lets her fall. Onida falls with a roll and lands like she meant to do that. Hikari tries to climb as well. Onida tries to catch him, but misses him and since she is in the way, Hikari can’t try to roll and goes thump. Onida turns into a large ferret and climbs up the tree. And Hikari steps away from the bottom of the tree. Onida sees something out on the limb that looks like a shirt. Onida turns into a small ferret and is able to drop the shirt down to Hikari. Onida successfully climbs down out of the tree. There are no tracks anywhere around the tree and the shirt doesn’t even smell like John. They search around to see if they find anymore clothing. They find John’s shoes, pants and a clean set of underwear. They radio everyone and tell them what they found. They hop in the Behemoth and come to join Hikari and Onida. Blaze takes one of the hover cycles that Davis found. Davis thinks that John turned into a tree. He puts a marble to his head and leans up against the tree an says, “Bling batta bling batta bling,”to see if it is John. After three minutes Flea hits him in the back of the head and say, “Stop it.” Davis responds, “It’s not John.” Davis goes to another tree. Xestro says, “Maybe John wasn’t John at all. I could have been something else and metamorphasized.” Joe doesn’t see anything in the aura. Xestro goes back to where we lost John’s trail. He sees two sets of tracks going in one direction and another back in another direction. There were two people holding John, where did his footprints go? Onida follows one trail and Xestro follows the other and they just don’t go anywhere. Dee says that we might have killed John when we killed the statues. Onida disagrees because John wasn’t at the Rift when the people were turned into statue and the other statues had clothes on. The group decided that some of the other statues that were turned into humans might have seen John, so we are headed back to Silverton and are taking John’s clothes with us. There was a pocket knife in John’s pocket and nothing else. We get back to Silverton. Davis wants to go to Northern Gun, Hikari wants to find the statue survivors, Blaze tries to figure out the description of her locate spell, but fails. We contact Zebulon and he says just tell me where to meet up. Joe in human form goes to see Zebulon in the hospital. Onida, Hikari, Davis, and Xestro go to Northern Gun store. The door in the back comes flying open and the general manager that we talked to earlier with Allan by his side. The manager has a big smile on his face says, “You guys are awesome. Allan told me all about it. The shipment that we thought was gone arrived yesterday. Not one thing was missing. You guys are worth every penny (100,000 credits). You guys go with Allan. He is going to get us hooked up, but you (Davis) come with me.” Davis says, “I think Allan overstated it. We just went to do the job that we were sent to do.” The manager tells Davis that he wants to set us up with Northern armor and showcase the stuff to the people in the west that don’t know the name Northern Gun like in the East. Davis says, “That’s was the idea that you had for us last time that we were here. That was a wonderful idea that you had.” The manager responds, “Thank you. Let me give you the address to my home. I would like to have you all over for dinner and we can hash out the detail.” Davis, “That sounds good, I like hash.” He goes back to his office. While at the hospital, Joe finds it harder and harder to hold his human form. He goes out into the street and turns back into a dragon right in front of Miss Harriet and his Sunday school class of five year olds. She passes out and the kids are all over him. He spends the rest of the afternoon trying to detangle himself from the children. Onida sends a pigeon to her family. That evening after we spent a day drooling over things and realized that we didn’t get very much money we started off to the managers house. Davis tries to sell his worthless credit cards to some kids for 10 credits. Flea grabs the back of Davis’ neck and lifts him off the ground and puts him in the ground. We arrive at the mansion of the manager with Davis dripping. The butler lets us in and gives Davis towel that he shines his knobs off. We are showed to the study. The butler gives us refreshments while we wait. After about 10, 15 minutes the manager walks in. He greets us all like long last family members. He offers cigars to everyone. Joe offers to light it for Flea. He asks us about our backgrounds to try to get to know us. In the middle of the conversation Davis starts meditating. After about 45 minutes we go to dinner. Hikari has very fine etiquette and is shocked to watch his comrades. Xestro was trying to use his fork and spoon as chopsticks. The dinner is pleasant until it is cut a little short when Joe belches and lights the butler on fire. After the fires are put out we go back to the study. Davis dances on his way to the study. At the study the manager gets on a business air. He is impressed with us and tells us that Northern Gun is the premier guns dealer in the Easter portions of the content, but people don’t know them so they aren’t buying their stuff. It is a bad deal for everyone because NG doesn’t get the sales and the people are not getting the quality that they need. He says that we are doing good hero work like killing Jack, which he says that he will talk to the judge about. NG needs some high profile heroes to get their product out. They know where people need help and will tells us about it, and to make sure that we are known they will send a reporter with us. As we leave, the butler gives Davis a medal polishing kit. We leave to discuss this. We talk for a while and the issue of “Useful” comes up. Hikari makes a slip of the tongue and says that useful is not useful at this time. Davis jumps on that and says that he gets to kill them, but Hikari changes the subject. As long as it doesn’t interfere with the quest, we will do it. We will tell him that we are already committed to something and that he is second place. Hikari has his doubts, but we decide that we will do it as long as we meet the reporter and o.k. him and we get to go where ever we want and the reporter has to obey us in everything. Davis and Hikari and Blaze are going to the manager to tell them we except and our conditions. He says great and the paperwork will be done in about one to two weeks. Merc Rosenstine is the name of the reporter. Hikari asks if he took a prisoner to the judge, could we administer the punishment. He says it should be o.k. if the judge says so. They go to the Court. The judge pulls up our case and give us the money for Jack, 50,000 credits. Hikari brings Useful before the Judge and Davis testifies as to what this evil man did to his family and starts crying. Hikari vouches for Davis’ honesty. The judge says Useful is guilty and that the punishment is death. Hikari asks that Davis can kill the guy. Davis says he will not lower himself to the skum. He says that Useful should cut his own fingers off of his own hand. The judge says that a snake will always be a snake and that the man should die. Davis say, then you do it. Hikari grabs the crying Davis and says he will go buy him a drink with Flea close behind. Hikari isn’t drinking. He is the “designated walker.” Davis starts challenging everyone to arm wrestle including the moose head on the wall. The next morning, Blaze wakes to find all the tiles on the seeker glowing as well as one of the symbols. She alerts the rest of the group. We all discuss how exactly it is that we are supposed to open a rift with the seeker. We all are perceptive and know that is it powered by the seven spirits and the seven spirits seek out the items. When the object is found the rune will glow. We need to turn the dial to the item of the rune that is glowing and press the jewel that is on the other end. It will only work when it is fully charged. The rift that it creates will create will only last for a few minutes, but it will last longer at a ley line or nexus point. We don’t remember one way or the other if the evil is made more aware because the spirit has found it. The rift will take us to the demention. To get home we recharge the seeker, point it to the eighth symbol, concentrate on our home world and it will take us there. Onida and Xestro get enough food for two weeks. Everyone gets the supplies that they need and we head off to the closest ley line, 50 miles north, at noon. We reach the ley line about 4:00 in the afternoon. Blaze charges the seeker. Everyone wonders about how big the rift is going to be and debates for a while until Blaze say, “Let’s open it and find out.” Blaze pushes the button and Blaze feels a rift on the way. A rift opens in front of the behemoth explorer at least two times the size of the Behemoth. Davis covers his eyes and refuses to look. Hikari drags Davis into the Behemoth as everyone goes into the Behemoth. We go into the rift. Everything goes white and then we get somewhere that we know is not Earth because the sky is yellow. Everything else is normal. The grass is about knee high and stretching out as far as we can see in every direction. No sun, moon or anything in the sky, but we can see just like daylight. The seeker is pointed straight forward. After a while we can see a dot in the distance. In a while we can see that it is a marble building. We see a large building that is squarish, white marble with Greek columns, a porch behind the pillars, and portal in the middle of it. There are carvings along the lentil. The longer we travel the larger it gets. As we get closer we realize that the portal in front of it is large enough to easily fit the behemoth in it. As we get to it we see the portal in front of it is actually two black doors with seven symbols on each. The doors are twice as high as the behemoth. The seeker is pointing straight toward the doors.
