June 22nd Notes
We are standing at the edge of huge temple with big steps leading up to a porch. The doors seem to be made of rusted iron. There are windows high up. The building front is about a mile from one side to the other. Joe flies up to the windows and looks in the building. He can see a big hall in there and a wall that might have some paintings and he is about level of the head of a really big statue. Blaze goes on her hovercycle around the building. She looks in the window and can see a hall and some rooms, can sense a ley line along in the building from one side to the other. Three of the windows are broken going into the same room. Onida gets on the hovercycle and goes with Blaze. Joe goes in the window into a big room that has big shelves along the walls. The floor has a smoke layer along the bottom of it. Joe flies out. Blaze and Onida go in the room. It is a big rectangular room that has a door made of iron that is closed. There is nothing on the shelves. Blaze drops a pencil.
Zebulon tries to open the door. When he pushes it, it swings easily open. Flea says, Ok, I’m going in. Zebulon opens his door all the way and Flea opens the other door. They just see a very big long hallway stretching left to right. They see a huge statue that is of a male warrior in full armor, sword sheaved on his left side with a broad shield resting against him on the right side. The seven symbols are on the shield. He is not wearing a helmet. His features are humanoid, but not human. He has shoulder length hair, but his cheek bones are higher than a humans and his nose is a straight ridged from the forehead and pointed out.
It is light in the building. The strange effect from the sky makes it seem as if the sun is shining in each of the windows. There are also two other statues behind the doors not quite as large that are depicting masculine angels wearing robes.
Blaze drops a pencil into the fog and it vanishes. They go down lower and the fog rolls around. The fog is about 150 feet high. They get tired of fog and go to the front doors.
Zebulon looks around a bit more. He sees a big long hallway with murals on the walls. Zebulon walks to the end of one side of the hallway and gets there about 20 minutes later. At the end of the hallway, there is another angel statue at the end of the hallway. The hallway turns right and then right again. At the end he walks into a big huge room with benches made out of stone that line the room. The windows are high up on the sides of the room. He walks down to the alter. Blaze and Onida follow Zebulon, but then Flea calls back and says that there is something that we should see. Blaze and Onida come back but Zebulon keeps going.
Dee shows us that the murals show the statue depicted in different battles. There is writing on the bottom of each of the murals. Xestro asks if the seven symbols are in the murals, and yes, there is one of each of the symbols under the writing. The picture behind the statue is the only one that doesn’t have a battle. He is standing in the same position as the statue with seven people of the same race as the statue. The background looks the same as the plain that we are in. Onida walks to the far right mural from walking into the doors. This mural is damaged on the bottom and doesn’t look like age. It depicts the statue fighting against a hoard of winged demons. It’s background is red clouds. Walking left to the next mural.
Zebulon walks down between the pews. One is out of alignment with the rest. The alter has writing on it. And has panels along the front of it. It is also about 4 or 5 stories high. There are doorways along the side of the room and it looks like just a big room. Some of the pews have scorched marks on them and some of the pews look like they have melted.
The next mural is a green color and shows the guy in the forefront of an army against demons. The next one is blue and has the eye under it. Shows him fighting with two large serpentine dragons. The next one is behind the statue that is yellow. The next the god is floating in outer space fighting with a giant multitentacled blob. It has the star symbol under it. The next one is brown and he is fighting a giant that is being formed from the ground itself. It is the X. The next one is the infinity symbol that is white. He is not holding his sword out but looks like he is doing some kind of chant floating amidst the clouds.
Xestro and Davis go back outside to the back of the building. There is nothing on the back wall. Onida and Blaze take the Seeker outside the building.
Zebulon walks back up the room and goes to a door and opens it up. He sees seven rows of benches identical to the ones in the bigger room. He comes out to go to the other room across the building. He glances to the back wall that is opposite of the one with the murals. He sees himself standing in a robe. He sees a lot of other people all along the wall. All of the pictures have some kind of wear. He just keeps going to the other room and opens the door that has the smoke. The smoke rolls out and completely covers him. He can’t see anything.
Onida and Blaze go around the building and the arrow is pointing always toward the alter. We say hi to Davis and Xestro. We all go back to the front to go back into the building. We hear over the radio Flea saying that he never looked better. We ask what he sees and he says, “Me!” “Where are you?” “On the other side of the wall.” We all go to him.
Zebulon moves forward into the fog. The haze is dispersing a bit. There is a large dark gold object in front of him. He walks toward the object. It is about 10 feet high and he can see about 12 feet in both sides going off into the haze. It is roundish. He goes to it and touches it with his hand. It quivers at his touch. He radios to us and says he found a gold thing.
Onida, Blaze, Xestro, and Davis get to the Behemoth and find Flea with the good arm of the Behemoth pointing at the figure of Flea. We see the picture of Flea. He seems strange wearing a white robe. Now we hear Zebulon on the radio. Onida wants to look at the wall, but we decide that we need to go to Zebulon. Zebulon stands there waiting for everyone and his sensors start to give him warnings. He sees three serpent heads coming toward him. The first one snaps at him and he dodges. He continues fighting the three headed serpentine monster. He tries to run away and a big round gold wall like thing blocks him. He shoots it and it hisses. He tries to jump over the wall and a snake head grabs him out of the air. His head and arm are in the snake. Another one grabs his legs and start pulling him apart.
Blaze and Onida reach the door and get off. Davis and Xestro fly toward the door way.
Zebulon fires off his jets in his boots. The serpent head on his feet comes off very quickly, everyone hears a loud sound like a cough and a sneeze. He wedges himself up to the shoulders into the head of the other one. Only the bottom of his legs and feet are sticking out. He can’t hear or see anything. His feet start taking damage.
Onida and Blaze see the big golden wall moving around next to the door. Blaze glues it to the floor. Onida shoots it.
Zebulon puts his knuckle blades out with is arms up and puts his thrusters back on. He pushes further into the monster so now his feet are inside of his mouth. He is pretty much wedged. He then has a free moment to radio and tell everyone what’s going on.
We figure out that it is called a trifang. It is a demon with three heads, one body and three tails. Length is about 20 feet. All three heads act as one, but killing one head does not kill the beast. It doesn’t have any vulnerabilities that we know of.
Blaze shoots his body. Davis and Xestro fly into the door way and there is a large snake head in front of them. It is slightly larger than the hovercycle. Davis skids off to the side when it takes a snap at it. Xestro draws his sword while hanging on. Joe gets into the door way. Zebulon shoots off his rail gun into the mouth. The bullets fly outside the cheek of the monster. Davis fires his jets and go toward the head that they see. Onida shoots the side of the monster. Blaze fire blasts it. They are just barely scorching it. Joe shoots fire at it. As Davis and Xestro are heading toward the head, they see the head raise back and Xestro hits it in the throat with his sword. Zebulon shoots it with his rail gun again. He shoots the head off of the monster. The head falls toward Onida and Blaze. Onida tries to catch it so it won’t squish Blaze, but it is a little too heavy for her. Blaze also tries to catch it, but it is also too heavy for her. We roll spectacularly and escape without breaking our arms, but we are a bit sore. Joe blasts the head again. At the same time a lightning bolt come out of its mouth and hits Joe. Davis leans back and says for Xestro to hold the wheel for a moment while he grabs for his pistol with two hands. The hovercycle immediately starts to drop. Xestro grabs the handle bar, grabs the clutch, disengages the drive and make the cycle drop faster. Joe fire blasts it again and misses. From under Joe another head comes. He tries to dodge it and manages to put his wing into the serpent’s mouth. He is now following the hovercycle to the ground. Zebulon is struggling to get out of the mouth. Blaze and Onida see the head moving around and figure out that it is Zebulon’s head. Xestro is getting close to the ground so he jumps. When he lets go of the clutch, the hovercycle reengages and it goes flying off again with Davis shouting curses. Joe lands with a roll. The Behemoth lifts up the top of the mouth that Zebulon is in so he can now get out. Onida and Blaze get back on the hovercycle and fly toward the nearest statue. Zebulon shoots the monster and does more damage than all that Onida and Blaze did. Xestro and Joe go toward the body next to the door. As they run a head comes out of the haze and blows more haze as it passes. Zebulon hits it again. A head comes toward him and Flea grabs it with the behemoth. Joe runs snout first into the monster and knocks himself silly. Xestro runs into it, but then bounces off momentarily stunned. Zebulon shoots again.
Blaze and Onida get to the statue and touch it trying to make it come alive. They feel smooth stone and get back on and go to the altar.
Xestro tries to swipe at the monster but can’t see it. Zebulon shoots again and is really starting to tear it up. Xestro hits it with the tip of his sword. Zebulon shoots it. Another head goes for Zebulon and he parries it. He shoots it in the same spot. The monster is trying to run away but is still stuck. Xestro walks up to the monster and slides his sword into the monster. Zebulon shoots the monster again and goes all the way through and Xestro feels wet on his face. The heads go limp. The monster is dead. Joe is still burning unconscious. Flea drops the head and goes back to his picture.
Blaze and Onida get to the altar and land on it. There are seven pedestals on the altar. The Seeker is pointed to the middle petestale. There is a diamond heart on it. We look through it and see the fan shape in pink outline. We see an outline on the petistal and writing under it. The writing says, “The Thraidec.” It is the name of the rune. Once we picked it up, the seeker stopped glowing. We radio to everyone that we got it and start heading back to them. Davis tells Xestro that he is never driving his hovercycle again. The hovercycle is destroyed. We decide to go back to the altar to look more closely to the altar. Xestro and Flea go look at the mural. Xestro has questions that he says will come back to him.
